Hello everyone,
as you might have noticed, the last updates to the app were very slow and far apart. This was mostly due to the fact that I was fairly busy the last year, with both school and other personal stuff. One of the reasons was also this DE mess that has been going on lately. I’m referring mainly to the release of GNOME 3.
GNOME 3 is a mess, and I’m not the only one who thinks this way. I’m really sorry I have to say this, I know many people have worked hard on the release of GNOME 3, but it really isn’t anything near what GNOME 2 used to be. I’m not going to list all the reasons why I think GNOME 3 sucks, because there have been already many, many, many posts about why GNOME 3 is bad for power users (or even for normal users), and the moral of the story is, I switched to KDE for the time being (I don’t think it’s definitive, but I really couldn’t get my work done properly with GNOME 3). For this reason, the development of ClipIt has been halted for now. I really hope to be able to get back to it, since I really use it every day, and I can’t imagine doing my work without the aid of a clipboard manager, and I also still have a lot of ideas of improving the app.
Yours Truly.

Mostly use Lxde with clipit and many still runs gtk2 with it. Sorry to hear that the updates has been halted though

@Tomas Forsman: Updates have been halted just for now, until I figure out how I go on about my personal system. Currently it’s either make the KDE switch definitive or go back to GNOME 2, in any case, I will somehow continue the development of ClipIt, even if it’ll just be a Xorg app.

just port it to qt or pyqt and it’ll be the best clipboard manager for kde.
I miss in Klipper (kde default clipboard manager) static items. that’s why I have to use clipit in kde (with tons of gnome (gtk) dependencies…
gnome is crap (became crap after releasing the stillborn gnome-shell)

I’m the one who hates GNOME3. I could barely use it in using fall back mode in Arch linux. I’m writing from Ubuntu 12.04 Unity with clipit now. Hate to say but Unity is usable for me. It lacks many features of GNOME 2 has though. I was a lover of KDE 3.x. and GNOME2. I love new sutff but don’t like to see changes. You are making great app. I just want to Thanks! I love clipit.

Try Xfce 4.10 desktop environment. It gets better each release and it has so much that I ever wanted GNOME2 to have. There is also a GNOME2 fork project known by the name of Maté (mah-’teh) http://mate-desktop.org/
